Dear Friends and Patrons of the Arts,

This summer, I have been invited to participate in the Miami Music Festival as an Apprentice Artist. This is an incredible opportunity for me to take my skills to the next level on the pre-professional track to a career in the opera and classical music world.

The first session this June will find me preparing the role of the Rooster in Leos Janácek's The Cunning Little Vixen, an opera with a cult following and lush score. During the second session in July, I have the chance to explore a beloved role in the soprano repertoire, by covering the Countess in the exquisite Mozart/Da Ponte collaboration, Le Nozze di Figaro (The Marriage of Figaro).

The faculty roster for this program is world class. The conductor I will be working with for The Cunning Little Vixen is from the Houston Grand Opera, which houses one of the most prestigious Young Artist programs in the country. The coach I will be working with for Figaro has been on the roster of the Metropolitan Opera House as Assistant Conductor and Prompter since 2003. In addition to mainstage productions, Apprentice Artists have the opportunity to perform in Aria concerts and Opera Scenes, participate in Masterclasses, and audition for Musical Theater and Cabaret showcases.

This is your cue to enter. My second and final tuition payment is $3250; housing for the festival begins at $1,000 per month. I am covering Tuition & Housing for the first session. With your assistance, I will be able to attend the second session, where the Cover cast of The Marriage of Figaro will have their own performance with piano. Being a cover is like an understudy - you are required to prepare the role with the ability to step into rehearsals or performances at any moment.

Will you help me take this next crucial step towards a performance career? Without the support of friends, family, and classical music devotees, my dreams would not be possible. I will be planning a recital for this fall in a gesture of appreciation to showcase all of the work I've been putting in to refine my craft since my NYC debut in December 2014.

With profound and heartfelt gratitude to all those who have supported me past, present, and future -

Yours Sincerely,

Arelle Ross Oberlander
